Rigby Big Game Bolt Action Rifle .416 Rigby - Keep Calm Edition 8/10

The John Rigby & Co. Keep Calm and Carry On Edition is an exceptionally rare commemorative rifle, with only 10 examples produced during the spring 2020 COVID-19 lockdown. Crafted while Rigby's gunmakers lived and worked together at the company's Pensbury Place headquarters, these rifles celebrate the resilience, dedication and camaraderie that defined an extraordinary period in the company's history.

This rifle features exclusive white gold engraving, including the "Keep Calm and Carry On" inscription, calibre designation and "Number 8 of 10" on the floorplate. Additional details include "2020" engraved on the bolt handle, along with the initials of the ten Rigby gunmakers who lived in house during the Covid period, and Rigby's iconic Double R logo on the quarter rib.

Built on the legendary Mauser M98 action and chambered in .416 Rigby, it features a single square bridge configuration, three-position flag safety and a 24-inch nitride-finished barrel. The rifle is stocked in beautifully figured Deluxe Turkish walnut with a traditional Best oil finish, a 14½-inch length of pull and a black leather-covered recoil pad. Completing the package is a premium canvas rifle case with a full set of cleaning accessories.

At the time of the release, Rigby Managing Director Marc Newton explained that the Keep Calm and Carry On Edition reflected the company's determination to continue building world-class sporting rifles despite the unprecedented challenges of 2020. As a tribute to the dedication of healthcare workers, Rifle No. 1 was sold at auction, with all proceeds donated to the UK's National Health Service (NHS).
